G&G Ball Visit

Grandma and Grandpa Ball came to visit us last week. We had so much fun together! We went to Makutus and had fun watching the kids climb and play video games. Sienna held her own with G&G in air hockey.

We also went to the AZ Kids Science Center- that was so cool. The kids absolutely loved it-and I'm not ashamed to admit I loved it too. They had a "Grossology" exhibit that was just down right inappropriate and funny. Basically it covered all the ins and outs of all bodily orifices. Too much info??

They also had the Chronicles of Narnia exhibit. This exhibit was absolutely amazing!! It was the real deal- they had the real costumes used by the actors in the movie. They had real props displayed and the ice throne that was wet and freezing cold that you could sit on. You actually got to walk through "the closet" with all the fur coats and you literally step into Narnia. And it's "snowing" just like the movie!! So beautiful-it gave me goose bumps. So, so, so worth it!!

We also gave them quite a show on our Slip N Slide outside. We played games and Nathan and I got to go out on a double date with G&G. While we ate an amazing meal at Lucille's BBQ the lights went out during a storm- that was surreal and kinda fun. Thanks so much for coming to our house. We loved having you- come back soon!!

P.S. Sorry there are not a lot of pics of Grandpa- he was here! He was just always hiding behind his camera!!

Surprise

No, not that kind I would die- this is different. Yesterday I took Sienna to the store because she promised she would be the "best girl ever." We were at the store for about an hour and a half and she was perfect.

We had a great time together. She charmed everyone who wanted to talk to her and smiled at everyone. She really can be such a ray of sunshine. People are drawn to her and want to engage her. You can really see that she is special.

Anyway, so we're driving home and I was thinking about how well she behaved. I guess I had a bewildered look on my face because Sienna asked;

"What are you thinking Mommy?"

"I was just thinking how happy I am because you were so good at the store."

"Yeah. You didn't know I was going to do that!"

(laughter)

"No, I didn't know you were going to do that."

"I wanted to surprise you!"

(more laughter)

"What a nice surprise honey...."

P.S. I wanted to do something special for her so I took her to a nearby Nail Salon. We walked in and I told her we were going to get her nails painted. Her eyes turned into marbles- "really Mommy??" When the guy told her she could pick out any color she wanted from a huge shelf her jaw dropped. Color of choice? "Pink. And sparkles on top."

Soooo, this is a little late but it's too cute to pass up........
For Mother's Day, Sienna's teacher asked all the Moms to come to school for a Mother's Day Tea Party. After several cute games, songs, and homemade cookies her teacher gave each of us a "question & answer" sheet of paper. Before the party started, Sienna's teacher had asked each child certain questions about their Moms and this paper was their answers.

A Picture's Worth

What I love about photography is that although everything before and after the picture is taken might be a disaster......the photo itself shows not what my mind can see or recall (ie: the mess, tears and tantrums) but what I can see- that one beautiful moment.

I love taking pictures of my family and looking at them over and over again. I guess this is my way of looking at the world through rose-colored glasses.

Sparkles

Sienna has just gotten home from preschool and is showing me her art projects:

"Sienna what is this one?"

"I don't know."

"It looks like a firefly."

"Oh yes- it's bum sparkles."
