In October Nathan and I took the kids to Mother Nature's Farm in Gilbert ( I know I actually ventured somewhere other than Schnepf Farm!) I read something about a Pumpkin Festival hosted by the Herpetological Society of Arizona...something about animals....yada yada yada. So we go and I think it's going to be a lot of fun.
Well, it turns out the animals the kids got to play with were a bit scaly, not furry in nature. It took only a glance to realize Herpetology is the study of amphibians and reptiles. The farm was full of lizards, snakes, turtles, monitors, iguanas, and this crocodile.
I couldn't believe it! This crocodile was walking all around us. Notice there is no leash, or restraining device - just a dismal piece of electrical tape around it's mouth.
I am not sure if the hosts of the event were understaffed or just uneducated...but there were so many snakes being handled by everyone (except me). I kept taking pictures an thinking, "this is crazy...should we really being touching these?."
